I’m Angela Johnson, a keen collector of craft supplies and belt buckles. I spend a lot of time tending to my huge organic garden, walking my dog and writing about my addiction to crafting for hairbowcenter.com.
Halloween is almost here! I can’t believe it! As my favorite holiday ever, I find myself at the height of my giddy excitement as we get nearer to All Hallows’ Eve. Scarydad Tribute: Supergirl
Evening Minions. I was just outside working on a project for you when I realized I hadn’t yet posted something for you to love today. A while back I did a tribute to Wonder Woman followed soon after by a tribute to Gotham City. Both have remained two of my most popular posts since launching the site. Well lo and behold, I opened a folder and found a gallery’s worth of pics for a tribute to Kara Zor-El. Enjoy! (more…)

Dia De Los Meurtos: Tucson Style
From the glaring eyes of a cd skeleton blasts pop music; Halloween music- music that gets the crowd stepping in rhythm, as much as a crowd can. There are ice sculptures shaped like bones, bones shaped into full skeletons, and skeletons masquerading as people. As I look out across the crowd, my own face painted a bright bone white, I see that I (in my all-black clothes and glow-in-the-dark skeleton tights) am, if anything, under dressed. At Tucson, Arizona’s All Soul’s Processional, there is no such thing as a Halloween costume—the creations on these bodies are months in the making and worn well after the holiday.
Wednesday Weirdness
Good evening everyone! Man, have I been busy. If you are a friend on Facebook or follow on Twitter you may have seen a hint of the project I’ve taken on recently. Needless to say it’s the most ambitious Scarydad project so far! It’s also very time consuming. Because it’s taking up so much of my time and current estimates are at least another week before it’s done, I’m going to post it in three parts. I’ll begin when I finish the first part. Paint takes a really long time to dry sometimes.
In the meantime enjoy your weekly dose of weirdness!
