Hey there loyal SD Minions! Tonight we have a special episode: The 200th blog post on scarydad.com! Roughly 100 episodes ago we celebrated our 100th Episode Extravaganza and we thought that was impressive. This almost double the accomplishment, so I think we should be at least 2/3 more excited, don’t you?
The first post went live about 13 lucky months ago and since then, well let me just say it’s been a fun and eventful year.
First of all, I want to recognize some of the friends I’ve made.
Victoria over at The Autodidact in the Attic blog has been awesome. I’ve been honored to have been featured a few times on her site and she’s been gracious enough to send awesome content over here too.
I’ve had a few well-received posts published over at Dumb White Husband, which is all the more cool because I read that blog before I started mine. It’s always cool when someone you respect likes what you do. Get your butt over there and buy his books! I’ve read several of them and they’re hilarious!
I’ve also been honored to post some musings over at Survival Punk and it’s been awesome to watch James grow his little site into a small business with great sponsors!
I won a blog contest for this post wherein I discuss how if you want to do something, you have to get it done.
Which brings me to my next topic.
I had and have always wanted to be a fiction writer. Well, since the shop has been shut down due to the relentless hellfire summer, I’ve been doing quite a bit of writing in fact. Unfortunately, not too much of it has been appearing here. And that’s because I have a couple of in-progress drafts of stories that I’ve been working on for potential publication and, well, whatever time I’ve had to write has been going into those projects. But when I get some of these other shorter ones complete, you can be sure I’ll publish them here first.
And, oh yeah. We’re expecting Spawn of Scarydad Part II (The Sequel) to arrive this November. That means we’re having a baby and we couldn’t be more excited about it and I can’t wait to have Amber from Southern Gothica craft some heirloom dolls for my girls.
It’s been one hell of a year and I ask you to raise your glass to many more.
Thank you.
