Good morning and welcome to scarydad.com where every day is Halloween.
So, let me introduce myself. Who is the Scarydad?
I am a guy whose favorite holiday has been Halloween since as long as I can remember. When I was little, my mom and her sisters were going all out with costumes and props and I remember standing there with a glass of green milk wondering if it would turn me green too, and that’s one of my most cherished memories.
In the 6th grade we had to do an over-the-summer book report and the book I chose was Pet Sematary.
As I got older, Halloween meant events, women in cat suits, creativity, drinking, parties, more women in cat suits, and general debauchery.
But most of all fun.
I also spent many years in a costumed cover band. Wearing those poofy Marvel Comics hero costumes in July is not as fun as in October, but it’s still pretty fun. And yes, to clarify, we wore costumes at every show, all year long. And yes, sometimes there were zombies at St. Patrick’s Day gigs or there was a dude in a dress at a wedding gig. That’s how we did things.
Halloween came two months before my daughter was born but that didn’t stop her from wearing a costume. Yep, I drew a jack-o-lantern on my wife’s belly. I really get into this stuff.
Finally, I just bought a house and one of the primary selling points was the wall out front where I can line up pumpkins and the access to power for my yard haunts and lighting.
When I put it all down on paper, it sounds a little crazy. But I guess we all go a little crazy sometimes.
Anyway, that’s all about me. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I will enjoy making it for you.
