When I was in the eighth grade I went to a high school talent show. Some kid I knew had an older brother who was performing and a bunch of us went to see them play. The band’s one and only song was a cover of Just Like Heaven. Now, that was a song that had been in heavy rotation on the radio so I was plenty familiar with both the song and the band that played it. But I remember sitting there that night in the school auditorium and being totally blown away. The next day I rode my bike to K-Mart and bought Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me on cassette. (more…)
Hello Minions, it’s been a while since I shared some sweet scary tunes with you. Enjoy some scary songs and videos. Feel free to suggest ideas for future posts in the comments.
Some of you know that I often have guest posts published over at Dumb White Husband. That’s because the site is awesome and I’m honored to be featured there. The rest of you just click the links and buy books until you run out of money. Do it now. (more…)
Hello there my good and faithful Minions! I hope all is well.
Today we are going to do something just a little different. As some of you know I spent many a magical night on stage as a founding member of the costumed super group Thunderpants here in Houston. Although I no longer play out anymore, I still enjoy a good jam session from time to time.
Well, a friend of mine recently started a side business modifying foot pedals for guitar players at an affordable price. And though his interests are not exactly horror-themed, he is a fellow maker and I think what he’s doing is really cool. So over the weekend I sat down with Chris from Austin Hot Mods to see what this whole thing is about.
And with that, please welcome Chris from Austin Hot Mods.
