Good evening my friends. As I told you the other day, Bride and I have been reworking the lawn situation over here at Fort Scarydad.
At a festival a few weeks back I saw something I liked that being sold for a price I didn’t like. So I naturally took a closer look to see if and how I could make one myself.
By the way, I live in Texas where luckily we have a cool flag. If you live in a non-cool flag-having state, you are free to find another project to do.
You begin with a few old fence boards.
Lay them out with the tops of the boards to the right, as that would naturally be the tattered part of the flag. Unless the wind was blowing the other way, I guess. I don’t know. Check the wind, then lay out your boards.
Clean said boards with yonder wire brush. Don’t get crazy, just clean them off.
I forgot to take a pic, but there are three vertical boards that these are attached to. You can kind of see one of them through the hole on the left.
To draw the star you will need a compass, a straight edge, and a protractor. The 5 points of the star are every 72 degrees. This, quite honestly, was the hardest part of the project.
Then paint that bad boy and let it dry.
And there you have it. One four by six-foot piece of yard art completed and $300 saved.
