Have a live Christmas tree and hate having to water it? Me too! You have to move all the presents, take multiple cups and attempt to get the water poured just right and not spill any. It’s not a difficult task, but it’s no fun. You could even say it sucks.
There has to be a better way!
Well, there is and today I’ll show you how to make one for about $3-$5 worth of materials instead of the $10 plus $5 shipping (Seriously!) devices found online.
What you will need is a funnel, 2 zip ties, and some vinyl tubing. I already had a kitchen funnel and the tubing can be found at your local hardware store for about $3.00. (Tubing of this kind is very useful for Halloween projects too, by the way.)
All you do is run the tubing down along the trunk of the tree and into your water reservoir. Cut it off where you are comfortable and then use the zip ties to secure it to the trunk. Make sure you have enough tubing at the top that you can pull it out when needed.
Then when you need to water your tree, pull out the tubing, put the end of your funnel into it, and pour the water in.
And we’re done!
