My Apologies

Good morning my friends,

I must apologize for my absence last week. We had a bit of a scare with Dad of Scarydad and I was hanging out in his room as the doctors ensured he would recover to wreak havoc once more. We have a full week this week, including a ghost story by a guest author and a review of some delicious spirits.

Thank you for your patience,

SD

Scarydad Project: The Glort

IMG_3492Tonight The Morrigan and I show you how to create and cultivate your own Glort. What is a Glort, you ask?

A Glort is a thing you can make with ingredients you probably already have around the house. It eats fingers and is totally evil so there’s lots of fun to be had.

I want this.

want this today

Good evening my friends. Tonight I have been perusing the online marketplace and adding items to the list of things that please me. We begin tonight with The Count. As many of you know, The Count is and has always been one of my favorite Sesame Street characters. I think this little dude would feel right at home on the shelf next to Jason Voorhees and Pee Wee Herman. It would make my kickass lair all the more kickass.

Guest Post: Matt’s Ghost Story

Tonight’s post comes to us from friend and fellow blogger Matt Cashdollar. Matt normally writes about mysterious and frightening things such as technology and automation. In the future when the machines rise up and kill us all, he’ll either be the leader of the resistance or the very reason it happened in the first place. Check out Matt’s blog here.

When I was a kid, my friends and I would go camping in the woods near my
house.  This was when I lived near the Appalachian mountains, in rural
Pennsylvania.  Nearby was “the strip mine” which was an old open pit coal
mine that had been flooded with water and turned into a series of small
ponds and a general garbage dumping area for the county.  We decided to go
camping just off the dirt road next to the strip mine.  Our road didn’t
have a name – it was just called Rural Delivery #1.  We were all poor,
redneck kids.

Tom Waits: Hold On (The song from tonight’s The Walking Dead)

This is the song from the end of tonight’s The Walking Dead. I’ve been meaning to discuss Tom Waits and his brilliance for a while. I guess I need to get around to it. I promise I will soon.

In the meantime, please listen to one of the most beautiful songs ever written.

Scarydad Essentials

Good evening once again my good and faithful Minions! I trust you are well. Tonight I will discuss a few items that are essential to the Scarydad supply list. There are definitely the obvious ones like hammers, saws, and a freezer full of skin. But if you don’t have those things already you might be just a little behind. No, these are some of the things that have proven completely indispensable over the years and have proven their worth by either running out, getting lost, or something so that I notice and terribly miss their presence, or worse, cause projects to remain incomplete until replacements arrive.

So, without further ado, the first Scarydad essentials list:

Welcome Baby!!!

lone-wood-stork_

Good evening. This is a picture of the stork flying away after dropping my niece off at the hospital. In the spirit of anonymity we won’t reveal her true identity. Instead we’ll simply call her… Ash.

That’s a cool name.

Hello Ash, welcome to the world!
