What a busy weekend!
Scary Movie Night: Event Horizon
Scarydad.com updates, news, and more!
Good evening my minions! How have you been? I have been very busy trying to make Scarydad.com into the best website in the world and as days go by, the plan is coming together. Here are a couple of updates:
Dark Knight Shooting
I don’t have much to say about this. I’m just shocked and devastated. The thing that keeps running through my head are the kids. I’m not normally an “Oh my God! Think of the children!” sort of guy. But a few months ago we went to catch The Avengers at a matinee. There was a little boy, around 2 1/2 or 3 years old in a Captain America t-shirt who was at his first “big boy” movie with his dad. With each new report that talks about the little kids who were there last night, the ones who were shot and even the ones who weren’t. I keep thinking about that kid and how excited he was and I’m brought nearly to tears. Take a minute today to let the ones you love know that you do. You never know when you might lose them.
Summer Reading: ‘Salem’s Lot
I guess it’s a throwback to my school days but I always feel like a good scary novel right about this time of year. I normally read something new, but I think I’m going to go back and reread ‘Salem’s Lot. There’s just something about that story that keeps bringing me back.
Update on the move and upcoming projects
Well, I’m finally getting my office together and finding my stuff. I know, I know. I’ve been here a few weeks now. What gives?
Well, that’s why we’re called Scarydad. I have a sweet little critter that loves to hang out and help but she’s not quite big enough to hold a level. So, I have to wait until after her bedtime each night to do certain things. However, once she’s asleep I have a problem keeping her that way when I’m banging on walls and dragging furniture around. In any case, the process has been a bit slower than I would have liked.
Rogue Dead Guy Ale
This weekend I was feeling a bit saucy so I broke down and bought a six-pack of Rogue Dead Guy Ale. Dead Guy is pretty expensive- $11 for a sixer, but it’s very nice on occasion.
My favorite Friday: Why I love Friday the 13th
Although my favorite slasher film is and will always be the original Halloween, my favorite series by far is Friday the 13th. These films are lots of fun and full of real scares. Over the course of the series, you begin to root more for Jason than for the group of doomed idiots he terrorizes so that he eventually becomes the hero, if still the antagonist.
What’s your favorite film of the series?
