Many years ago, Bride of Scarydad surprised me with an impromptu birthday trip to the Crescent City. It was the first time I had ever been, which is pathetic since I live less than 300 miles away. Ever the fan of things dark and mysterious, and even more so a fan of booze, food, and more booze and food, I couldn’t wait. Here is the story of what happened that time I got drunk in New Orleans.
Happy Birthday Shel Silverstein!
Good morning Minions. Today we celebrate the life of someone really neat; the great Shel Silverstein. Although his works aren’t specifically horrifying, his weird and quirky stories and poems are at least somewhat responsible for my twisted worldview.
Videos to keep you from sleeping- Special Music Edition
Good evening Minions. Wow. It has been a very busy week in the lab. I installed some more power and got to work creating havoc and mischief once again. What fun!
Anyway, I have some picture projects coming soon but unfortunately I have to wait for some paint to dry. In the meantime, here is a list of really great songs for you to have on your playlist during your Halloween party. Enjoy!
Happy Birthday to Stephen King and Bill F@#king Murray!!!
Happy birthday to the master of horror, Mr. Stephen King!!!
When I was probably way to young to read it, I acquired a copy of Pet Sematary. To this day I still think cats are untrustworthy and that sometimes, dead is better.
One of my favorite novels ever is ‘Salem’s Lot, and because of It, both gutters and clowns are things to be diligently avoided.
Thank you sir, and happy birthday.
And thank you sir. Groundhog day is brilliant and so is Ghostbusters. Then there was Zombieland,
Any regrets? Garfield, maybe.
That’s just funny. Happy birthday to you too, sir.
Scary Movie Night: The Walking Dead
Hmmm. Two zombie related posts in one week? Must have been someone I ate. (Cue thunderclap and maniacal laughter.) Ah, my beloved Minions, I just can’t wait till I start doing videos and podcasts; I’ll be so funny you’ll laugh yourself to death! Ok, enough with the puns. It’s just been one of those days. And I know that our subject tonight is not a movie and is in fact a television show. I know this. But it’s also scary as hell and the third season is about to start and if you hurry you can get all caught up in time for the season premiere. (more…)
Summer Reading: World War Z
Good evening Minions. Our favorite season approaches. Soon the evenings will be cool and the air will carry the scent of burning leaves and pumpkin spice. However, Autumn does not arrive until September 22nd. Therefore you still have time to finish a book or two for Summer Reading. Tonight’s selection is World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War by Max Brooks.

Scary Movie Night: Invasion of the Body Snatchers
When I was about 15 years old, my dad worked up a list of several classic movies he thought I needed to see. Among these were films such as Cool Hand Luke and The Great Escape. There weren’t many scary movies on the list, but this one was actually close to the top of it. At the time I was a little bit cynical of “old” stuff. I had a stupid kid’s opinion that the special effects wouldn’t measure up and that it was all just cheese and dudes in monkey costumes. My life changed when I sat down with my dad and watched Invasion of the Body Snatchers. I think this film is responsible for hatching my love of scary movies in general. Before Invasion, they were just cool. After Invasion, they were, or at least could be, important.
Pinterest Project: Pumpkin Muffins
Hello there my faithful Fallen. Today we launch the Pinterest Project we discussed last week. This project also falls under the Fun for Under $5 projects that began with some googly eyes. I will be adding some tags and category headings a little later on and hopefully this will be a regular thing. The spirit of DIY is not to have to shell out a bunch of cash to realize an idea. I hope to help with that.
So, here was the project, copied directly from Pinterest, description and all:
Scarydad News and Updates!
Good evening my faithful minions. I trust you are all well? Good! I am mostly recovered from whatever plague I caught earlier in the week and am ready to get back to the labs and make some more mirth for everyone. I just wanted to take a moment and let you all know what’s been going on at Castle Scarydad and what you can expect in the days to come.
